I have just been reading a long fred on another forum about putting them in a more "big hand" friendly place.

Not related to this thread. But it dont arf make sence :D.

As I remember it, he put a plate on a bracket so the coil packs were in the space near the battery box. High enough up to keep them dry and readily accessible; and it could all be demounted if required for other servicing. :)

the leads were changed with new ones when I made the data diagnostic , I just swap the leads 1-6 connectors at the coil side not at the plug side. so for me the coil is faulty not the new leads.
I believe that an electric problem occurred on that coil as my old cylinder 1 plug and lead were badly corroded and the plug end was cracked..

That plug looks ancient and also dead!! I hope you replaced them all

Maybe it was damaged before it was put in and got worse over time. Or maybe someone you aggressive removing a plug lead - they can be very difficult if left for a long time..
It's MUCH easier to remove the upper manifold, at least the first time you do it then you can see what you're doing better.
You can check the coils for resistance, i think they should be 10-12kohms, if i remember. But that's only a guide, it doesn't tell you how they perform when they get hot and under load etc

do I need to replace gasket when removing the upper manifold?
should I clean or change particular elements , do preventive maintenance under the upper manifold to prevent other failure?

I don't actually know where they are mounted as standard ๐Ÿค”
Can you see this position is not best, Gems engine but Thor same place.
Imagine a bulkhead, and sausage fingers :vb-groan2:
