Need to empty it and put some more sealent round the tap ole. Gorra free ladder this week. Opens as an a frame anorl. Furd bit then slides up.

I suppose that if you try and recut the thread wiv a die it just goes round and round? Maybe you could clamp the tie-rod and ball joint to stop this?
I fink your way may be better, unless it starts to go round and round as you use the saw.

I cut the damaged threads off by getting another nut & used the ugga dugger to nip it on the rod end, then used a pry bar
to hold put pressure down on the tie bar & cut the treads flush with the nut using a skinny cutting disc with a dewalt cordless
grinder.
