Good evening everyone,

I have just carried out the test. The bulb lights up when I use pin 1 and 6. Which is of course not good for me.

What now?

let me summarise:

- switch pack gets power
- switch pack itself works
- all fuses are working
- all measured lines give the correct value
- I was able to rectify the fault 3-4 times by pulling fuse 1 and cleaning it.

Thanks!

Now the question: if I had a nanoncom - could I localise the fault immediately?
With Nanocom, you can operate the windows which will confirm if that is where the problem lies. Equally, you can check the operation of the switches. So for example, if Nanocom sees the switches operate and the windows operate from Nanocom, the fault is in the wiring or in the BECM.

Good evening everyone,

I have given up looking for the fault.
I have reassembled everything.
Will have to wait until the end of August.
Today I tried to check the cables "at the back" but then I realised that the test with the lamp was successful and therefore the cables at the back (fuse 1) are OK. I thought there might be a loose connection there.

Thank you very much!!!

Good morning everyone,

I have one last question on this topic:

which of the 3 earthing cables is E0808? This should be screwed to the floor. I would like to check this before nanoncom arrives. Thank you!

thank you both very much!
that saves me work.
I read it in an Australian forum - that the connection at the bottom may be rusted and that is why there is a ‘loose contact’. I had a water problem - as you know.
Thanks!

In that case check each of the ground points. It any are rusty, then clean them up & re-fix. Can't do any harm whil;e you're saving for the Nanocom !!

Many years ago, the one on RH front door pillar was going bad on my green P38. The symptom was the HEVAC display dimming when the brake pedal was pressed. Ground sorted & display good.
