Looks like I'll be taking the plunge and picking up my first 90 on Tuesday!

What would be on you top 10 to-do-list as quick wins/no brainer things to do as a matter of course/best practice.

I've attached a pic of the vehicle.

Sew a deeper lining into your pockets and cancel all weekend events for the foreseeable future!

Full and comprehensive service, replacing all consumables. Give yourself peace of mind and a decent datum to start with.

Check or replace the oil in the engine, gearbox, transfer box and both diffs.
Change fuel filter and air filter.

MOT history looks not too bad. All tyres might need replacing, along with shock absorbers if they have not been changed since the last MOT, they were down as advisories.

Get plenty of paper and make a to do list. Then chuck it in the bin as you’re never going to complete it.

What would you recommend? I was thinking of putting security bolts on all 3 doors, and maybe a steering wheel you can take off. Any recommendations for them or any other security that can be done pretty instantly?

I dont actually use any (but then we live in a totally different place ).
Removable steering wheel is good. Pedal locks I like the big plate that covers all pedals and applies the brakes. Anything very visible may make the scrotes walk on.
Secret switch is always good and easy to fit.
And a good tracker if it actaully does happen. Cos if they really want it they will get it.
There are a few threads here if you search and many have differing ideas.

Did you get any sort of history from the PO as to any work done?

It looks ok, go enjoy it, before it decides to open your wallet.

Secure that bonnet as well..
Etch widows,headlights & any panel that will be easily removed.
May sound overkill but if they see them marked will hinder selling parts

I never know you wave at other Landy owners - bit like the old mini community!

From what I remember, the tools for security bolts are easily available and therefore in my opinion no better than the originals. The original hinges on mine are Torx type, I filled them with epoxy resin putty, If I ever need to take them off it will be a few hours work to dremmel them out. That should be enough to deter the door thieves (and yes, people have returned to a parked Land Rover to find all the doors and bonnet missing).

If you have a removable steering wheel, the thieves can bring one with them.
A 90 went missing not that far from us, pedal lock, alarm, removable steering wheel and column lock cover. It took just over a minute to be stolen.

Ultimately, make it as difficult and noisy as possible to steal. It will increase the chances of the scrotes going elsewhere or getting caught.

The first thing I did was take the little steering wheel off and put a proper one on, I then fitted the steering wheel lock and pedal lock.
The next thing I did was take it for a drive I then ordered a fuel pressure regulator repair kit as it was leaking fuel.
I have been ordering stuff on a regular basis since. I actually think in the past 4 years I have ordered more car parts than the rest of my life on all my cars put together!

Why do I have the feeling that buying this Landy I may never take the family away on holiday again!
