Yes that's the current set up and it does sound mean.I think they sound nice with the back boxes gone, just the big middle box in place. Not too loud but loud enough to be heard
I do want to hear a fully straight piped one in person but I don't think I'd live with it. Il be using it everyday. After my rebuild I ran mine with just the cats. It was good but . . . . . . .
That's the thing, if it's too loud it gets tiresome after a whileIl be using it everyday.
I'm going to try and find a cat back exhaust with some performance silencers rather than a full straight pipe. That's the thing, if it's too loud it gets tiresome after a while
I don't have a wife, so that's one less to worry about. It will be noisy, but sound good until the wife & neighbours complain !
Years ago i had an rrc.. that had a middle box off a Renault sport. That sounded AWESOMEI'm going to try and find a cat back exhaust with some performance silencers rather than a full straight pipe.
Don't come to France, they are installing sound monitors with ANPR to trap noisy vehicles. My blue P38 has single rear pipe & centre box. It sounds much more throaty than the green P38 which has the standard twin pipe system. Not excessively loud, but enough to turn heads, especially at pedestrian crossings if I rev it !!
That's all good but what about the vehicles that are too loud when they left the factory? I'm thinking about the ducati panigale which often fails static noise tests at track testingDon't come to France, they are installing sound monitors with ANPR to trap noisy vehicles.
When I rebuilt mine I took it down and up the hill with just the manifolds on. By christ...After my rebuild I ran mine with just the cats. It was good but . . . . . . .
Illegal in France to use on the road, I suspect it's power output will also make it illegal. That's all good but what about the vehicles that are too loud when they left the factory? I'm thinking about the ducati panigale which often fails static noise tests at track testing
I thought they rolled back on the 100bhp restriction ages ago? Honestly that was a daft one when just about every 600cc bike is over that.Illegal in France to use on the road, I suspect it's power output will also make it illegal.
You are right rolled back with some exceptions in 2016. It was a nonsense anyway, my FJR was 150 bhp restricted to 100 bhp by a stop on the throttle which mysteriously disappeared at the first service.I thought they rolled back on the 100bhp restriction ages ago? Honestly that was a daft one when just about every 600cc bike is over that.
With the Ducati it's something to do with the exhaust being low to the ground.. a static/stationary noise test with come out over 100db as built by the factory
