Thats a good question Grrrrrr, would it jump at any other point also? The whole transmission is original and is all a touch tired..

Not experienced it with the auto. On the manual you could feel it sort of of surging when trying to slow using the engine (gears).

Wonder if one front and one rear wheel was jacked off the ground,SAFELY,hand brake off ,,,but in park and rotate a wheel back and forth and see if theirs any jumpy or unusual sounds and slack in the drive line ...

Lucas fix caused me some problems a year or two ago so the box was drained and refilled a few times to clear it out. Anyhow.....
That's the least of my worries... @Dopey...

It almost caught fire as everything was running, opening shutting and over heating... I had to go in and pull the battery lead... Thanks landrover the feeble battery connections... A stupid move of not checking the water...
I'm not fûcking angry at myself... Honestly

Dry it out with a hairdryer on low heat setting being careful to not get any part too hot and you may be lucky.
Bet you got a bit of stick from her indoors for that
