Hello,question:i have a 2000 Defender TD5 with cooling problem,water pump was toast(blades missing and all)radiador clogged up,both got replaced and the thermostat just for good mesure,it got tested but it still gained an enourmus amount of air pressure,so much that the expantion tank cap poped off.
Should i consider a head gasket failure?

It was shot to begin with,but a new One,but still the pressure was too much and its popped again.
Unrelated:some1 said that a problem in the diff could also be the reason for the pressure going up,does that make any sense at all?

No, not the slightest sense. The differential is not part of the engine cooling system
