no if you read it you can deactivate the need for the code, and the code is what ever you put in, right at the beginning, unless it never ran when you first got it

Willing to try, but I think I've been there .Ive put in dozens of numbers and tried deactivate , then move through that with rotary switch to change etc but just alarms . Probably not doing it right!

well other than you've lost chip out of the key, cant think of anything else

Nothing to do with the key. The key turns the ign on , it's a personal lockout.
I have two keys so both can't be out.
Would anyone know if the Sat nav.is controlling the code to the BCM, whether the BCM is at fault and not receiving the code.There are no fault codes.

If the Sat nav is required to input a personal code placed by someone in the past , and this code is lost , what is it communicating with , the BCM or the immobiliser. Does the immobiliser when it doesn't recognise the key chip allow the engine to turn but not fire up.
Or does it inhibit the starter altogether.
My point is this interlock code prevents the cranking of the engine as an extra security. Does the immobiliser chip in key do the same . If so then, the immobiliser would be the box to send away and cleared.
Come to think of that scenario , the immobilser depends on a one only or several codes , where as the bcm may deal with random ones.
I have contacted several ecu repairers and they dont wnt to know!

on the diesel the immobiliser prevents cranking, any code entered by someone in the past is cleared when re-entering its a one time code, a fresh one has to be entered every time you want to use it

Thanks for replying , so what your saying is that the immobiliser is the standard security measure , so the bcm is handling the one time password.
If I were to replace the Bcm , which possibly corrupt as does not count down in emergency deactivation , then as long its like for like part number the same , is it plug and play?

out of interest if you run a wire to starter can you turn it ove and start it?

Yes I can try , can see what happens, trouble is with that if it starts , then the crank sensor will send a message to the BCM to cut the engine , I think that will be what happens.
Will post later , tried 1926 as well , no luck.

Tried another BCM ECU and went through the process of renewing the module and nothing really , happened . I have gone through the procedure of taking battery lead off to deactivate locked code , displayed on the SAt Nav and still no countdown. Has anyone done this please and posted a success story.
