Hi' I have a 2001 4.0litre Auto P38. If the doors are locked it sometimes just opens the drivers door. If the doors are open it will sometimes close all the other doors but not the drivers. It does this when nobody is near the car and the ignition is off! As well as this when being driven the doors can lock on their own and then unlock again. It sometimes leaves the passenger door un lockable (my wife isn't too keen on it!!)
Has anyone had similar problems and what can cause this?

Check the tailgate button,strip it and clean,it can cause random locking issues. The driver's door lock which houses the microswitches may be suspect.there is a check sheet by Marty it may be in the Technical Archive top left of home page or someone may post a link.And welcome.

Had the phantom locking and unlocking on mine, plus tailgate not opening. Was a faulty drivers door lock. Fitted replacement and fixed it. @martyuk offers a repair service but believe he's in New Zealand til the autumn

I get a few issues with my eyes looking at screens that and spelling and grammar was never my strong point, spell check helps a lot
But give me something to fix or build

My brain knows what to do but my finger doesn't follow,I seem to type the letter after the one I need,if that makes sense.its bloody annoying.
