I think I'm the opposite of everybody else as that's what I get. Number 1 nearest the front has a bad leak but cold or hot starts fine so why do so many have it the other way and I don't.

My number 1 leak off pipe was leaking and I never noticed for ages until I took the manifold off to do the glows.

No def leak off (or whatever folk call them) pipe as there's a bad puddle. Or if that's what you also call it them my mistake.
ok, I dont know the first thing about diseasal engines
nothing to do with injectors then?

It is where excess fuel not used by the injectors goes back to the tank ready for another pass. For some reason #1 seems to go first but it is hidden under the inlet manifold and the FIP is in the way so it tends to pool in the well where the injector is and then dribble down behind the FIP, out of sight and out of mind. Finding decent pipe is a nightmare.

Number 1 is the only one with a well around it so that's the one that puddles.

injector pipe?
Leak off pipe is separate to injector pipe. P38 diesel Is different to most systems as it has injectors but a mechanical pump not a pressure rail like same enginee on an L322.

If No1 is gone rest won’t be far behind. I notice reduced mpg normally then there’s bubbles in clear pipe when I check. Some stuff only lasts 6 months I try to get old stock. 2m @ <£10 is usual from a motor factors and will do the injectors, one to FIP and the MAP pipe.
The LR individual packs cost a fortune and aren’t much different don’t bother.

I got stuff called tygon ,they do all slzes ,,,It looks like fish tank hose clear but yellow but its for fuel .....Had it about a year now n no leaks ,,,Got it on e,bay ;)

Clear but yellow? Translucent yellow?

Sounds like it might be worth @tomcat59alan giving it a go. I think they water the fuel down in his area with something vicious.

Aye it looks like P155 clear n yellow ,, you can see bubbles in it  very small ones like champagne....:D:D..

One lot I had was thicker stuff, only very slightly, didn’t want to go on the injector as pushed against the engine. Think I even tightened one a bit just to get clearance
