Please forgive me for the terminology. I was changing my front axle oil today and saw on the near side of the axle, what looks like a missing bracket on something that should to do with the steering. Should something be there or is this how it should be? It does seem to look like a sheared bracket. Thanks in advance

Looks like something has been bolted through the jate ring hole?

Looks like a steering protection bar has been chopped off. An after market item and not part of the steering system.

No bother. Actually, I think whatever it was, was bolted through the power steering box hole for LHD models? Not the jate ring hole

Its not far away from needing a welder and some plate too.

that’s how the landrover standard steering protection bar is bolted on. I can take a photo of mine later this week

Already done. Just gone through mot and needed plates on rear section
