On my 19j 110 I am considering fitting an electric cooling fan in place of the original engine driven one. Anyone done this?

The simple answer is don't, apart from specific circunstances. The original viscous fan moves more than enough air when needed, and is very low resistance when not needed. Even an old-fashioned fixed fan is unloaded when you're moving forwards and takes less load. If it's not, the viscous coupling is probably knackered, or you have other issues!

Had twin electric fans on my 19j which did lot's of towing. No big advantage, just easier front of engine service and a bit less noise without the cowling.

I have no real issues with the OE setup but just wondered as I have the whole thing in pieces.
