Morning, I replaced my key fob batteries a day ago, the fob locks and unlocks the car but I keep getting fob battery low message on the dash. I have put a small strip of insulation tape in the fob as per @wammers advice. any ideas anyone?

I had this, one off the batteries was a dud. Put a multimeter on it and showed 3v at first then dropped to 1.5 after a few secs. Assuming the opening off the doors worked ok then with drop on battery it registered on dash Swapped them both for good quality batteries as ones I first used were poundland specials. Rangie fobs need good quality batteries.

I'll check the batteries, hope my multi meter isn't in the garage, it's p1ssing down. They were supposed to be good quality but you never know these days.Ta.

Checked the batteries, one was 2.9v the other 1.5v I guess JCB stands for Japanese Crap Batteries off to buy new Duracell, probably made in the same factory.
Duracell is just a name now, bought out by private equity.
Need to look for an expiry date on the packaging, there are a lot of out of date batteries available.

Bought some KODAK brand batteries for weighing scales recently. Put first one in, stood on scars and greeted with "Batteries low"...the best result I got was three "weighings" over a week before getting the dreaded "Batteries low" message! Took them back and got my £1.00 back. Cost me more than that in fuel!

Kodak went bust years ago as the digital camera revolution took hold, they too are just a name now,

Once your fob batteries start playing up holy hell breaks loose. Can be potch to sort them once it’s done you are good

It’s Welsh for
‘a f***ng nightmare’,

something that sounds easy but doesn’t work out that way, then there’s little bits, the fob thing won’t go back on, it does but the light doesn’t come on etc. ...potch ;)
