Evening all

A few weeks back I burnt my hand on an item in the engine bay I had no idea what it is after receiving a new Haynes D3 manual today I have worked out I have a FBH fitted

Q. being

What does it do/ is for?

If you can educate me

Hi. Isn't it described in the same Haynes manual at the climate control/auxiliary heating section ?

Aux heater, fitted to lots of mdoern cars, basically helps the engine get up to operating temp faster.
Can be fitted with a mod kit so can be used to preheat the engine, so you get heat from the heater pretty much from the off.

Take a close look at the heater where the small black plastic/rubber pipe enters, and check the 90 degree rubber bit as this can split with age, pumping diesel all over the place.
