One thing I've noticed since I've started using this forum, is that the literacy standard is quite poor among many. Now I'm well aware that it mostly consists of internet slang terms, or otherwise known as "txt speak", thus being intentional. But isn't it a bit odd when you take into account that this is a forum where mature(?) adults come to post serious topics? So my question is, why is there so many people (grown men) behaving like teenagers?

Of course, using "txt language" is more efficient for many people to construct, however, it only makes it more difficult and time consuming for the readers to absorb the information, so isn't that a bit selfish?

Yes, we all make spelling and grammar mistakes here and there, but is there any real need to behave like children? It just degrades the forum in my personal opinion. If this was a children's site, then fair enough, but given the nature of this site, I very much doubt that!

Just my opinion of course.
