Morning all, after the downpour of snow not far from where I live yesterday I decided I would go and have a play in it. So was driving along a country road when I came across a puddle (or small lake) and when I went through the water was splashing around in my wheel arches. Then I realised that the road ahead was no longer lit up as bright as it was before the puddle. After a couple of seconds driving there was a squeek (like a fanbelt) and the lights came back to life.

Any suggestions as to what this may have been?

Sounds like a wet drivebelt..maybe ya went a bit quick through the water...and got it a bit wetter than you should...that drives all the pumps and the alternator..

So these drivebelts, do they need changing? If so, is it an easy job and how much are they?
