is an R380 gearbox with the LT230 transfer box power take off unit will go on the transfer box the winch will go on the front of the truck.
Truck is a 2001 defender 110

The worst thing with shaft driven winch is the shaft it's self. It sits there doing nothing most of the time and ends up either seizing its joints and slider or wears out just rattling about as you drive. Keep well lubed.

Mech driven pto winches are awesome, as said keep the shaft well greased.

i live in New Zealand we don't put salt on our roads so our trucks don't rust out in 10 years or less unless you drive in the ocean. I always give everything a grease before i go off road recon it keeps the water and grit / sand out.
