Further to the remote refusing to function, I now have to use the key. the screen on the HEVAC has gone dark, no sign of light at all.I have checked fuses 42,35 and 8 all are good.plugged in Nanocom. No faults are showing. HEVAC is working perfectly, just cannot see anything. yet again I have no idea.

Sounds like the back light bulbs have failed.
Remote refusing to function may be as simple as corrosion of the battery contacts in the FOB. Just had that on my renovation project.

Check Alternator output, when mine began over charging, the first thing to turn off was the HEVAC display....

charging at 14.4 and has been for the last 3 yrs since I fitted new regulator. have voltmeter in cigar lighter so I can keep my eye on it
