I believe with a bit of jiggling it can come out the bottom.

Sorry 4.6 v8 yer I've managed to get the thing off is there a way to find a crack in it a I can't see any cracks or holes

Out the top.. the 1,3,5 & 7 bank needs to be rotated slightly

I loosened the starter motor and managed to get it past the coil
