Anyhow, just to ask if the pressure switch was faulty, would it not fail to detect the presence of pressure and keep the pump running or cut the pump off earlier?
Maybe not the best scenarios as examples!

Maybe the accumulator has leaked and put some of it's nitrogen charge into the system.

@wammers ,
If it has leaked gas into the system, is it that the whole system would have to be bled out or just part of it?

Hmmm..that is a lot of work!
I'll start with accumulator and hopefully not have to finish with the pressure switch!!!:eek:
But I'll be resetting the pedal out of curiosity...;)

If that is suspected do the lot. See what you get out. You usually get a ticking noise as brake is applied if there is air in the ABS unit.
 
Arhh, no ticking there sir!
The brake performance has not changed a bit over the time I've owned it and still remains the same even with the fault..
So far the RR god's have been fair to me. High mileage, pump rattle and timing chains pending an all!!:confused::)
 
That was a very heated seat moment..
Came off the motorway down the slip road under light braking, got to the roundabout at the bottom and the pedal decided to go further down than I really did expect....I'm sure my jeans were blue when I got in the car! I
Guess the accumulator ain't storing shït..... She's off the road for the moment...
The pump is still working, although at long than should.. I've no abs fault anymore and the brake pedal is as normal as ever......even still, no more driving... Damn it stinks in this here bus!!!!:eek:

Check brake switch is behaving as it should with the Nanocom. New switch is only about a tenner anyway. It has 2 positions to monitor. If it doesn't get the second signal it won't assist with the braking, although pedal going to the floor like that sounds like air in the system somewhere. You can attach a normal Easibleed kit and the do first part of the bleeding process in RAVE where you flush through the accumulator (before you start opening brake bleed nipples). Just pump through 2 litres to make sure every last bubble is out. Then do the rest of the bleed. While you're under there keep an eye out for damp patches near the lines.

The brake switch has two functions. When the pedal is pressed cruise control is inhibited as one circuit is broken and brake lamps are applied as the other circuit is made. They must cycle in both directions and must never be both broken or made at the same time or you will get an ABS fault..
 
The pedal switch is on the check me out list!
The brake pedal feels as normal as it ever has?? Just that one moment coming off the roundabout.....
I can hear the pump taking absolutely ages to charge, so I think a new accumulator is on the cards as well.
I found at jgs4x4, for under 200€ and a wabco unit. Pennies being put aside for that.

Yes! The accumulator is on its way!
Weird thing is??
The warning lights have stopped and everything is restored??
Obviously charging a solid accumulator with no gas in it...
Should be done this weekend!:cool:

We'll.. uneventful really... No problems to report, all functional. Easy repair with bleeding to follow Saturday to be 100% sure no gas has escaped into the system. Traction control works brilliantly!
