My "mate" has just overtightened and snapped the near rocker cover bolt on my 300tdi. It's snapped just below the bolt ie when bolt is removed the bar fills approx 95%
Can anybody suggest a repair!!??

you will need another err4687 as it secures rocker shaft as well ,you can drive it as long as it isnt losing oil

to fix properly, rocker box needs to come off the snapped stud removed and new one fitting, it has a nut at the bottom end to secure the rocker shaft to head

yes

you need top undo the cyclone 8mm socket ,hose clip on breather pipe, screw driver or 6mm socket, then just remove the 3 or in your case 2 rocker cover nuts, if you lock 2 m8 nuts together you can just nip new stud up then remove and use the proper flange nut to secure rocker shaft,once done smear some silicone sealant around cyclone o ring before refitting it
