Why not move it to the stolen section then we can all laugh at the tratter drivers who have their pride and joys liberated then buy them back in bits from eBay.... Nowt wrong with hippos is there @Hippo and @GrumpyGel there's times I'd considered buying a newer looking td4 but I need the towing capacitySorry BB, was hoping to get max fanny landerers biting, can I move it to AG somehow?
Are those things heavier than these things then?I don't miss it in the slightestView attachment 135414 And why would I, comfier, quieter, faster, roomier and it's got air con. Before you freelander folks go on the defensive I need the towing capacity of a discovery or defender for picking up these things

not bitter, just trying to join in a bit of (what I thought to be friendly banter) sorry if I offended you, it won't happen again. Haven't been a member for long but beginning to realise that some of us just can't accept that there is more than one type of Land Rover, shame it gives a bitter taste to what was a great website. Just for the info I also have a disco 2 and I enjoy both cars. Would even consider a defender if I could justify it with the missus.Don't be so bitter you bumder driver View attachment 135413
Yes pal, I need a 3.5t towing capacity as range rovers weigh around 2.1t. I think hippos are either 2.2t or 2.5t max towing capacityAre those things heavier than these things then?

okay, misunderstanding on my part, bitter is a strong word, we are cool. Living in Sweden for the last 25 yrs not so use to conversing in English so much. To embark in friendly banter then use a word such as bitter in such banter I took it literally, my mistake. We are good.Hang on bud, you didn't take that pic seriously did you? I thought the only way you could take it would be in jest! Sorry if I offended ya mate
Towing a tratter with a Freelander can cause a lot of damage. Tratter weight is above the recommended safe upper limit for a Freelander but it will do it. Yer need to be careful when towing a tratter as the stress/strain will cause damage. This will vary depending if yer tow from the front or rear.I will remember this the next time I see either a defender or series broke down on the road and need a tow , I will however go an fetch some petrol for it and of course a box of matches at least it will save them from keeping up welding it.
Garden? Sounds more like a scrap yard.Technically I currently own two discoverys and a series 2a, one disco is my daily keeper the other is a do-er upper and sell it and the 2a is spread around the house, drive and garden waiting for me to stop playing with discoverys![]()
Disco 2 is the thinking mans tratter. They rust at the same speed as a tratter but they also have a heater that occasionally works on some of them. Hence why tratterers who have gone soft, buy them.Traitor!!
