Evening all. On my down through the engine to trace an unknown fault. Head coming off this week, however whilst off I am looking to hand lap the valve seats together when I change the oil seals and springs. Question.. RAVE goes through it but had anyone done this to these engines before. I have done this back in the day on Ford iron heads but never on an Ally' one with hardened seats. Advice welcome on anything I should worry about. Before anyone asks, this will be after the head has checked, (just in case..)
Many Thanks

Don't have the head skimmed, but have it pressure tested. Are you having the valvesand seats recut?.lap them in as per your Ford days.

Hi, depending on the state of the seats, I hope I may be able to just hand grind them clean. Though 180 k miles later some hope..
Then just seals, springs, clean up and gaskets..(sounds easy really..)
