I have bought a new refurbish kit to replace the old scruffy one. While dismantling the old fob a small blue square piece fell off. I have another key from another car, can I use the iners in my new one and will i be able to sync it as normal.

No you cannot use internals from another car. Did you cut something off the circuit board when you opened it. You should have asked how to dismantle the fob first. This may cost you few bob. New fobs are not cheap.

The old fob was only held together by cellotape, so all I did was cut the tape and a small blue square piece fell out.
What do I have to do now, buy a new fob from Land Rover. What sort of price are we looking at.

Around £170 I believe from main stealers but dont fall for them saying the car needs to go on diagnostics to sync it.

That's what I was referring to but I don't know if the p38 has one or not or if it's all part of the circuit board.

It could well be a transponder, I have managed to solder it back on and all works fine now. I think I will send for a new key when I can afford it just in case.
