My T-reg Defender failed Mot miserably on corrosion in the chassis and needs shedload of welding I don't understand why as the last test didn't mention anything about corrosion. Anyway...a new chassis is out of the question at the moment (££££) so could anyone recommend a decent welder in Stoke and its immediate surrounds?

If it needs alot of welding it'll be really expensive labour wise anyway might be worth waiting and swapping chassis. If not that buy a welder and have a go yourself it's not very difficult. Just do some practice first. If you're planning to keep either swap chassis or invest and do yourself or you'll be chucking money at it every year for mot's it'll keep rotting from the inside
