can anyone tell me the thread bolt size for the tow bar bolts on the the rear box section on a td5 2001 ,is it 9/16 unc and where/ who has a tap . Thanks Dave.

Never checked and do not know, but I would have thought it was a Metric size. Maybe a photo of the bolt you mean might help? did you check the pitch of the thread or the diameter?

I've got some spare bolts in the garage I can check for you tomorrow if you want.
Like Neilly, I'm sure they're metric - either M10 or M12.
Do you realise the threaded part is in the top surface of the cross-member, so you might not find a tap long enough to reach from below?

Checked the spare bolt I have. It's as the Witter info : M14 x 90mm long. Thread pitch is metric standard 2.0mm.
Larger than I remembered - lol

I was a bit careless the other day when fitting a lower spring seat for a rear coil spring and the tap snapped in the hole. It was a real chore grinding it out. I was very very careful with the other holes.

All done taped out the threads and fitted the tow bar
