Has anyone fitted a D2 facelift front panel to a D1 to allow the facelift lights to be fitted to a D1?

Yeah. Got that, but was hoping it might be easier to fit the complete front panel, or at least, the headlight boxes?

Nope! My D1 300tdi lights were shocking when I got it, fitting a relay loom and some new bulbs made a huge improvement, at least as good as any other halogen car I've had. I do have early D2 lights fitted now, not sure they made any difference but look nicer in my opinion.

Their better than a candle (just), but that doesn't mean you have to accept them.
Facelift lights with the relay mods as in the CFAQ section, should be a marked improvement.

Not much point... it's a ground up rebuild. Plus100's in my 300tdi are betterer
