Job on hold pending Hylomar arrival.
noticed it doesn't leak for long after switching off. So, either heat or pressure. Wouldn't think heat would cool down that fast so thinking maybe a little pressure in the sump? So blocked breather?
Mine's the '95 so breather goes out of rocker cover into a leaking horrible plastic filter thingy then back into the air intake. No EGR.
after it has been switched off all the oil has drained back into the sump the oil level is below the sump gasket. are you shur its not the O rings on the cooler hoses?
RAVE says you need to "fill the front and rear openings with STC3373 sealant" before fitting the gasket. I'd make sure Hylomar is up to the job. You might need Permatex or something else a bit more robust.
STC 3373 is of course very expensive.

Last time I can across an engine that leaked a bit of oil when its switch off but fine when running it was the rear crankshaft oil seal, just a thought.
