Well spoted. Ok I'll put my hands up to that one but it still dont change the fact that if you buy a disco thermostat you expect it to fit your disco right? Mind didn't as the diameter was too big. Springs that foul series 3 chassis?? Discs that warp after 1000miles?? Sure I have had other stuff of em which has been fine but for fooksake its so hit and miss. I would say that 20-25% of the stuff I've had of em has either needed buggering about or returning and those para springs they sold me toped it off. No way are they ever having another one of my hard earn't pennies.

all i will say is, peeps should use their own judgement when buying, and this applies to absolutly anything
if something is cheap, there's normally a reason why - you can buy a car for new car fer £5000 or £50000, both will get you from A to B - same with a toaster a tesco cheapy will burn yer bread just as well as yer fancy blinged up italian jobbie
most peeps over the age of 16 have worked out by now that is you buy cheap you'll be buying again soon cos cheap thing tend (note the use of the word "tend") not to last as long as more expensive, well engineered products
if yer such a tight wad to keep on buying cheap stuff i'd dont think yer should be moaning bout it when it breaks or wears out
if the things you buy dont fit then they ant fit fer purpoise and should be sent back, not fecked about with to make fit
companies who sell more crap stuff than good stuff dunt stay in business very long

It would appear then that they have a poor quality control department then. As They get there stuff from the same places as most parts suppliers do nowadays (China or India) and in most cases so do the major manufacturers same part different packaging.

A good point well made but my point is cheep brakes made by an iso 9002 reqistered company shouldn't be fooked after 1000 or even 5000 miles and then when you have have a word with Britpart they say "tuff you have been using them too hard"
A cheep toaster will still toast your bread and a cheep set of brakes should still stop your car. Mine were dangerous to the point that I would not use it untill I had fitted my proper landy ones. Its a disco so I dont race around or brake at the last minute into corners and they were so warped it violently shook the car and squeeled. By no stretch of the imagination is this acceptable. If your cheep tesco toaster burnt your house down you wouldn't say "Oh well it only cost me a fiver. I should have seen that comming"

ISO 9002 just means that the company can adhere to its own (self written) process and simply confirms that a company follows procedures - a company could sell sticky tape that doesnt stick and still have 9002 approval.
Cheap items are cheap for a reason - on what basis did you decide to buy the pads that your moaning about ?

OH NO. Brakes fitted straight on I would never and have never made somthing fit that didn't fit straight away with regards the brakes. The bits that I made fit are still fine after having bolt holes opened out that didn't line up and buggering about trying to make the bottom hose on my disco rad clear the pas box because of the angle the rad pipe came out at so dont make out that its my bodging thats done it. Britpart trackrod ends of the sealed for life kind fitted a month or so before my mot cos mine were shot. Mot a year and a month or so later and it failed on two of the trackrod ends! And before you ask no I do not go off road in the disco or go bounding over speed bumps to launch myself in the air.

I still cant beleive your still saying well they were cheep brakes so you should expect them not to stop you car or last more than 2 months!
nope what i am saying is you'd be wrong to buy cheap uns and expect the to perform as well as better engineered (and therefore probably more expensive) version - you might have had a stone trapped between the pad and discs, or some other reason why they failed - you might just be unlucky, perhaps when you buy something next time you'll not buy the cheapest ?

This is true I wont be buying cheep again and yes I do understand that cheep things dont usually last as long as well engineered more expensive goods but when you take two front discs off after 2 months which are both warped with no visable score lines from stones or any other item being wedged in them this in not aceptable by anyones standards except of corse the company that I bought them from. Its like the tesco toaster, that still comes with a 1year warrenty the same as a tefal one that costs £30 more and yes I would expect a tesco toaster to die sooner than a more expensive one but 2 months for a major safty component on any vehicle failing after that period of time brings me back to the "If they cant make em work properly for that price then dont make em at all" Unlucky would be one faulty disc but it was both. This company is putting dangerous components into peoples hands who think ok these discs may only last a couple of years rather than 4 or 5 years with genuine landy ones but I think anyone will admit that the length of time and the milage I put on those brakes should not have caused them to fail. I do not however argue the fact that cheep will pack up sooner than expensive parts most of the time. Its just the length of time that hass realy boiled my pi**. Oh and the rad that I had to force to fit is still working so the build quality is fine its just the fact that they couldn't copy a straight forward angle on a genuine landy rad pipe and just from what I can see they guessed the angle
cheap aint necessarily worse or lower quality - just been quoted £600 fur front discs and pads front and rear for my slitty from the stealer - just gone and bought EBC discs and pads (6000 greenstuff) fur £200 all in.
agread - if ya just buys a set of discs that arrive in a britpart box wrapped in brown paper who knows where they'd have come from

They said "tuff you have been using them too hard" explained that I had taken it easy for the first 200 miles and that I hadn't been towing so no need to brake hard and that I hadn't gone off road so no repeated braking over heating the discs and they wern't at all interested. Bined em and got on with my life and now letting every one who is interested know what they MIGHT be buying. The next set could have been fine but I doubt it and wont be risking it.

Possibly you could get somthing out of them but you contact trading standards and have em tell you what to write in your letter to them. You send it to them and they respond in writing a couple of weeks later saying the same as what the said on the phone you then have to take them to the small claims court which costs around £80 and if you lose the case its cost you the £80 plus the £50 for the discs and pads you have already bought. A good point but a lot of work for little reward. They know that such a small amount of people will actually take them to corte they will carry on peddling ****e and ocasionaly have to pay out for a claim. As far as I'm concerned If they cant make brakes work, cant make springs fit, cant make thermostats that fits and cant make a trackrod end last more than 12 months there best avoided.
Hi all just to clear up a couple of things.
we hadn't got around to torqing the bolts, just screwing it on stage when the other nut pinged off.
Also the thing that got me worried was i could bend the new ubolts by hand and and they didn't spring back, where as i had to use a vice to bend the old ones.
