anybody had a go at making their own guards under their p38's?

Yes, guy in France. Flo, I think his name was. Used to go by the username of 996Turbo but not seen in him in ages. he did some awesome videos too. Had his own website in France called something like Range Rover Evolution but think he sold some of his kit through Devon-4x4.

aha! Yes, ive seen his site, thankyou. Just wondered what ideas where out there. Going to have a go with allu' check plate. Managed to split my bumper yesterday on a woody trail...ooer.. Going to fit some mesh in the lower bumper middle as there is a lot of debris getting to the condenser.... Thanks grrrrr-rrrr

Thought about it myself. You should see the lumps of mud and grass hanging off my steering gear sometimes. And there's always the possibility of a flint or similar smacking a diff.

dont fancy the idea of a random piece of wood piercing my g/box cooler:(...quite amazed with it's performance off road even with bloody road tyres!! I was looking at some falken tyres on fligbay for 69€ each. Seen a few good write ups. I also found some Yoko geolander g12's. Nice tyres.. And I cant find any insa turbos for the 255's,just 235's. Does the 20mm width difference really show on the wheel??

No not at all they just look 20 mm narrower. :D:D

I thought that also, here in France they're a bit funny about tyres not being the correct ones! The hand book lists 255/65/16's but on allopnues.com they list 235/70/16's, also. It's a risk having them fitted and then failing the mot because they are not what is fitted as standard! They dont do non standard here!!

I have considered other wheels to be honest, that's a good idea but for me i need to replace the tyres anyway!

My handbook from the '95 model lists 235mm tyres as an option.

thanks grrrrrrr-rrrr, I only have the 255's listed in 16's or 18's.. ?
ill call an mot shop and ask what they accept before making any decision, I either buy two new fronts on 255's or all four on 235's. I looked at the insa turbo ranger and mountain series on 235's. not bad prices but a bit scarce on 255's.. If only life was like a box of chocolate's..
name that film??

I found General Grabber AT to be reasonable on road and off. Not bad on price here at the time. Real knobbly tyres just make a racket and spoil the ride. Currently on Nexens and I do fine off road for most conditions. I've got / had some Scorpion STs too but they're not worth the money unless you get them cheap.

not a fan of gt's, unfortunately. Do you think the insa's are too aggressive? I rarely do motor ways in mine, more around the country roads and forest bashing!!
come on, what film was it?

+1 yourfirst! Grrrr you lost out!!:confused:Shirley' to be one of the airplane films. How many we're there for a bonus point?
