Hello all,
Recently bought a 1977 series 3 Station Wagon - might not have been an SW originally as it has a rag top tub. It seems very original in most other respects, i.e. interesting brakes and that famous ride quality! Still love it though.

Welcome to lz Paul!

Nice motor, Series 3s are becoming collectible classics now.
Brakes should be very adequate to the performance if properly adjusted, good shoes, and clean fluid.
Ride quality can be improved by greasing leaf springs, but always bouncy if no weight in the back!

To be fair the brakes are adequate and the ride is part of the fun. I have owned 2 Series 2s, 2 Series 3s and 2 Defenders, (1 was a Ninety), previously and I chose a Series 3 out of preference this time.

Welcome....and a good choice. You'll know your way round the vehicle by the sounds. I have a SW and like you suspect it isn't original spec. Enjoy the landy as posted an appreciating classic.

Hey welcome to "theZone" @Paul LCB, you sound like a dyed-in-the-wool Landy fan, just like an old mate of mine here, he reckons Land Rover badges should only be allowed to be fitted to series and defenders, nothing else.
You guys get the "Iron Butt" award for being able to endure the plush seats and luxurious ride.
