Hi guys
What other 4x4's have you driven and are they any good?
At work we have a Lotus prepared Izuzu Bighorn! How inappropiate is that?Seems ok though apart from the really reduced ride height

Used to run a Datsun Patrol ( back when they were Datsuns )2.7 litre petrol, leaf sprung, three door swb. One of the best cars I've ever driven and kept it for about 8 years, hardly ever failed its mot. Only downside was fuel economy but it was fun to drive.

last year i had a 1987 isuzu trooper 2.8td lwb ,was a exellent motor until some ****er driving a artic decided to make a swb .....

Had an M reg Cherokee for a while. Too low for proper off roading and the brakes kept breaking (handbrake exploded twice and brake pipe burst going into a roundabout a bit fast). Petrol consumption down to single figures by the time I got rid of it but the acceleration was something else! Oh and there was wind noise from the wing mirrors at 70. Traded it in for a new Disco 300TDi Auto which was the most UNreliable car I've ever owned, so I supose it's swings and roundabouts...

the mitsubishi shoguns/pajeros are excellent off roaders have seen these follow defenders everywhere off road only downside is they are too pretty be gutted getting one scratched where as a landy suits war wounds

I have a Mitsi L200 Warrior, with some BFG AT's. Only downside is the length but that can't be avoided with a vehicle like that, but except that it is very good off road as the gears, height/ground clearance and diff lock etc are just right.

Yeah we got l200's fitted with grabber at2's. they seem alright but leaf sprung at the back so a bit bouncey on the rough when going a bit swift

Used to have a hilux surf which was great, 2.5td version so was abit underpowered for acceleration but otherwise nice, i do prefer the landy though it just seems a bit tougher.

I saw a citroen berlingo 4x4 on big tyres do surprisingly well at a landy event - the owner was challenged to go round the course amidst guffaws and pretty much cleared it!
