Evening all, my S3 is stuck firmly in reverse gear!!! gear stick won't move at all and won't disengage!! it will move in reverse gear but won't come out of it. Not too sure what to do tbh as gearboxes aren't exactly my forte!! I've removed a cover plate off the back of the box to check to see if a nut had wound itself off, it hadn't!! Has anyone got any ideas at all??

not too sure, haven't got that far yet!!! not even exposed the box yet through the floor, thats tomorrows job!!!! i so hope i don't have to remove the gearbox

One thing to look for (and I've seen this myself) is that the plastic bit on the end of a Series III gearstick wears away and comes off - and the damn stick gets itself out of the pattern and jams in a space above or below the section it's supposed to be in.

Is the gearstick in an odd position? (oo errrr....)

Barring that as James has said I'd have the tunnel off and have a look at the selectors. If they're not lined up properly the selectors will lock things.

usually because the other 2 selector jaws arent fully aligned, 2 of the 3 selector shafts have to be in exact neural for the other to move
