Hi All,

I'm not quite ready for this purchase yet, but hopefully it wont be too long before I can get stuck into my new galv 110 chassis.

The JE Developments V8 (270bhp) has also been delivered, so the pressure is on!

I'll be using this truck for a variety of fairly average uses... occasionally for a 30 mile (each way) commute down the A34, a few times a year for high-days & holidays (roads trips in uk & europe), and for farm duties on a small-holding - normal stuff, lugging bales, feed, fence posts, etc across fields... bit of towing for stock sales & slaughter.

It's certainly not going to a green-laner or anything like that, so the only decision I've made thus far is that it should be standard height suspension. I was a big fan of avon rangemasters (tubed) on my old 200tdi, so my tyre choice will be along that line.

Mostly I'm concerned about trying to gt this right first time.

So, what should I be gunning for in terms of suspension to really compliment the rest of the project?

dont think you can go wrong with gwyn lewis stuff. hes absolutely worth a chat to, just on advice alone. after looking at what felt like a million options i bought a kit from him yesterday.

my previous experience was with Koni heavy track shocks which I thought were pretty good, along with their standard height/poundage springs and mounting hardware. Easy to fit and decent ride quality without spending big bucks.

You can of course go cheaper again and some people have had good look with that stuff; and some people just swear by OEM fitment which afterall will suit most, and if yours is very tired then it will be better just being bran new etc.

given you will be towing and lugging heavy loads maybe investigate rear air helper springs.

As it's a new build project, I'm not too focused using cheap parts... But at the same time I dont want to waste cash for the sake of it. If there are measurable performance/longevity/quality increases, then I'll happily pay a bit more.

I'm running koni heavy track raids with standard height flat dog springs on my 110 puma with similar use to what you describe. I've had lots of landlines with different set up and this provides good handling and reasonable off road articulation. If you were requiring more off road capability then ome springs and 5inch longer shocks from gwynn Lewis with all his bits provide an excellent challenge type set up whilst retaining good handling but may be overkill for what you describe. I run this on a 110 td5 but rarely need the capability.

We have always run standard springs, but with similar use to you, I can definitely see the advantage of:-

rear air helper springs.

And we have a pal with them on a 90, and it certainly seems to help with a trailer full of 'eep - seems more stable too.

Anyway, my principal aim of posting was to state the obvious and our experience, and buy the best shocks you can afford, or justify.

Sounds an impressive beast too!! 270Hp ?!?!?! Mmmm
