Can anybody recommend a suitable brake upgrade?
I would like to improve the braking feel and stopping power.

possible larger disks and 4 / 6 pot calipers

Hello Pat

I know this depends on the budget you want to spend but AP Racing, Alcon, Brembo and EBS all do brake caliper upgrades and disc upgrades, all will provide a 4 and 6 piston caliper. They are expensive but they also can be found on Ebay at reasonable prices aswell.

Hope you get a good bargain whatever you choose

I relpace the discs and pads all round weekend before last

mainly as the discs were showing wear (the pads it seemed were only half worn)

after bedding in the brakes are a lot firmer (even on std replacment disks & pads)

i sourced mine out of paddocks and notice they do a "drilled & slotted up-rated front disc for 50 quid a pair and iam sure they also do harder pads too.

From personal exp with other vehiocles i would shy clear of harder pads

Question is how old are your brakes now? (what condition)

I replaced all disks, pads and nice clean fresh brake fluid about a month ago
the system is fully bled. the pedal is firm, so no problems there
also replaced the shocks and airsprings
(they wern't long for this world & had seen better days)
also, as its a manual, i am usually not in the habit of using the brakes - engine braking is usually sufficient

You would do better using your brakes they are cheaper to replace than transmission

nah, shows a certain lack of commitment
besides - all these mobile crumple zones (lessor vehicles)
