So after buying it last week and joining this forum i thought i would put some pics up.

Its a 2001 TD5 ES with only 83000 miles on it:D

Very happy with it so far but it needs a few little jobs sorting

Ace has been deactivated
Rear sunroof motor has been removed
Spot lights work when they feel like it
Drivers heated seat not working
Heated windscreen not working

Not an exhaustive list of things to do but i will work through them when i get chance.

And some pics of my last toy, must be getting old

Ive got a silver one (Zambezi silver '04)
The red is the colour I wanted but the silver one came up, typical! :D

The intermittent spot light issue is no doubt down to the LR auxiliary lighting module. It's a small black box with a 15A fuse plugged into the top of it and it's fastened to the back of the fuse box in the engine bay. Mine does exactly the same, so I just need to get around to wiring the spots old school via a normal relay etc. etc.

steveyorks by windscreen heater, do you mean an actual heated windscreen with a switch to activate it on the dash? If so then the easiest job is to check the state of the two connectors on the bulkhead/scuttle panel next to the bottom corners of the screen.... & the two 40 amp fuses (one for each side). For MOT reasons (crack) I had to have a new screen fitted. By the time I came to use it in anger, only the driver's side worked! Cleaned up the connector on the passenger side and all's well!

I think I solved the spot light issue today, I had to remove the dash to change a bulb and just ensured all connections were nice and firm when I put it back together. Since then the spots have worked fine, I have a separate switch on the dash for them and they only work with main beam. Also since fitting it all back together my rear window washer now works again so happy days.

I just need to sort the heated windscreen, both fuses fine, relay clicking, and connectors at scuttle panel look good so little stuck with it now.

And also drivers heated seat isn't working but switch lights up.

Other than that no other electrical faults, yet!! To deal with.

Difflock thanks for the advice I will have a look. I did mean heated windscreen yes and although the switch lights I dont recall hearing the relay.

The relay for the front screen is under the bonnet. If you take the cover off of the fuse box under there and get someone to press the button on and off while you listen you should hear it. It's relay R8 I think the third one up on the right side, a black one. Then there are 2 fuses in there which are f7 and 8 I think, 40amp.
