Hopefully a quick question, or at least a quick answer...
Reverse light not working well, have to mess with the gearstick...I've rewired it so now looking to replace the switch.
Question is, how can I tell which one to get? Its a 1987 LR90 that has had a 200tdi conversion from a petrol engine. I'm not sure what gearbox is fitted, last owner thinks its original.
Is the switch a general one for most boxes or are they box specific? If so how can I work out which box I have?

might be better if you asked this in the right section bud.

Bu66er, didn't realise i'd stuck it here.....I blame the scrumpy!!

Mods, could someone stick this in the Defender section please?

Don't forget to have it in reverse when you screw in the new one, other than that it's a piece of ****!

Thanks bluedog for stating the bleeding obvious.....because I didn't know that, guess what the next thread would have been about

Don't ask how I know! Alright then... bought a 'cheap' replacement switch, threaded it in, tried it out, bit stiff but worked. Took her out for a drive, pulled into a passing place to let a car past, tried to reverse out...snap! Switch snapped off and fell into selector housing. Stuck in a country lane passing place, couldn't move anywhere incase of damage to the gearbox! Fun. Combination of tin foil cheap switch and screwing in too far!
