Sadly, head failure after an overheat is more common on the M51 than gasket failure. Might be worth buying an old Vauxhall/Opel Omega, they can be found for much less than a new head, using the head and selling the rest for scrap.

That depends on how slow or quick they work and how much they charge per hour.

You are probably correct, been out of the game to long now I've lost touch. I'll be doing mine till they put me up the flue.

I am skint. I won't be done soon just want to get idea of how much to try and get saved
And hopefully sell the 22" wheels that are on it to cover some of the cost. But I got 2 dead landys outside the house now and now have no running around to get to work.
