bought new keyfob for p38 from main stealers and it won't sync up with BECM key opens doors and starts car if the door opened with old keyfob any help thanks Andy
yes the dealer tried as we if the car is opened with the old fob the new key will lock/unlock with the new key start with the new key just won't lock/unlock by pressing buttons on new keyfob thanks for your help Andy P.S. it's a 99 model.
Obviously you are lacking in flexibility and analytical skillsAndy, for such a short sentence, I'm really struggling to understand it! Can you pop a tiny bit of punctuation in to help out?![]()
When you put the key in the ignition on a 99, the FOB LED should flash briefly, does it? Have you tried locking with the key and then unlocking with the FOB? It's possible the new FOB has the same FOB code as you existing FOB, in which case it will not work, you cannot have 2 FOB's of the same number. Which FOB number did you order?bought new keyfob for p38 from main stealers and it won't sync up with BECM key opens doors and starts car if the door opened with old keyfob any help thanks Andy

As you get older, you learn to cope with the poor educational standards of the younger generationMaybe, but I really struggled with "...new key will lock/unlock with the new key start with the new key..."
Good call.Hi Andy
I got 2 new keys from the main dealer and had the same problems, the computer system in the car had been swapped out for a replacement.
I had to take the car to Richard at Callrova CallRova | Range Rover and Jaguar Diagnostics +44 (0)7742 500 190
Unfortunately it was the only solution I had open to me.
Give Richard a call and he will advise you and give you the cost of the reprogramming etc, he is based in the Brighton area and fixes it while you wait
I did try all the key combos etc but you may have the same issue, apparently it's quite common, mine is a 2001
Hope this helps, good luck
Ash
