Hi guys I have got the chance of buying a defender 90,The car was a cat D write off . The car has been rebuilt on a galv chassis .The condition is excellent ,the mileage low, my question is this will I have any problems in insuring such a beast. The car was a sv90 with about 60,000 miles on it ,the rag top and cage has now gone, and has been rebuilt to county spec.

Has DVLA been informed , and is there receipts for the rebuild components ? Its cat D not C so will not need a VIC , but that might not be a + factor . Is it from a dealer or private individual ?

don't know if dvla has been informed [would that not automatically happen upon being written off??]

Its a private sale and I am not sure about receipts for work etc.
