Got a problem on a 2001 p38 diesel when cold fuel pump doesn't run when heater plugs come on works fine when it's running

Relay is pulled by splice from number six glow plug. On your model also pumps on cranking. Look at diagrams. There are three feeds to relay pull circuit all controlled by diodes. Look for the wire you want and trace it. Maybe a fuse box problem.

As Wammers said, but could also be the pump itself sticking when cold. Otherwise my bet would be the relevant diode in the fuse box or a dry solder joint.

They are warranted to work and be free from faults for five years from date of manufacture. Year of manufacture stamped on them is usually 1995.

Just had a look at it got power going to pump when key is turned on so must be pump sticking only 2 months old ****part for you

2 months is pretty good for a ****part pump
