Argh! so the frustration continues.

So i noticed there was a bit of a damp patch in the passenger footwell, turns out there's a massive puddle hiding under the lining! This might have been accumulating for a while...

Tried having a closer look, pulling up the carpet a bit, but cant see whether the lining is one continuous piece from passenger to driver side. Is that the case?

I want to rip out the lining and wring it out and hang it to dry, then identify the source of the water in the meanwhile!

I'm guessing aircon or a clog somewhere else looking at the common problems.

Already tried sticking an old aerial up the AC drain hold, only went up about 15/20cm tho, dont know how far it should go, its definitely not clogged at the "teat" end!
But its definitely water, not coolant (he says confidently), so hopefully i don't have to pull the whole dash apart to replace the heater matrix o-rings!

What more can i check for to locate the source of the water? I took the pollen filter cover off to haver a look there, but that rubber seal is fine... i couldn't see another possible location water could be getting in.

Help please! All suggestions welcome!

the pollen filter cover seal may look good, but they still leak, a bead of sillicone along the top edge will stop it. On the valence just below and to the outer edge are two screws, one each side of the car, these also let in water, a good blob of silicone again does the job.

With regard to the carpet - unfortunately one piece, fitted before all the centre console and heater goes in. However, gently pop off the sill tread plates - from memory you'll also have to remove the front kick cover a post and the seat plinth finisher, big plastic L shaped gizmo and you may just be able to lift it enough to get some air to it. there may be other parts to take off but you'll see. The sill tread plates fixings are interference fit into metal clips - be careful as the fixings can come off the sill cover as you try to pry it up.Front carpet and rear carpet are separate so just stay with the front if that's the only bit affected, the carpet has a backing foam that'll make it quite stiff to move. Be prepared to wait days for it to dry out.

The aircon drains are clear underneath I haven't really gone any further I just run the aircon for a bit then shut it off for now.

As above and you won't need to take the dash out to do the O rings, wrong side unless it's a left hooker

+1. Mine had come adrift, and the condensate was just dripping on the carpet. I'd had half the car apart before I found it so check there first!

They're just a push fit on to the drain, I fitted a jubilee clip to mine and had no prob since.

did you pull the pollen fillters out and check them mine were soaking wet even thought the seals looked ok, sealed mine with self adhesive foam draft excluder round the hole then screwed covers back nice seal no mess.

Where are the aircon drains? are they easily accesible or do i need to remove the centre console or dash?

Easy enough. It's a bit fiddly though.

You don't need to take the centre console out, but it makes things easier to remove the air vent thing that blows on your feet, and probably the panel that goes under the steering wheel. Maybe the centre console side panels too...?

They are about 25mm long and stick out of the air con evaporator box pointing down towards the floor. One either side. The drains go through the floor (one either side) about just behind the bell housing.

I managed to get a jubilee clip on them to stop them being displaced in the future.

Like this idea to seal the pollen filter covers no fuss no messy silicon. I put some vasaline on mine seems to have worked
