Hi all,

Trying to change the door locks on my dad's 98 Defender. We have got the lock out of the vehicle and whilst trying to disassemble the lock assembly to take out the old barrel, part of it snapped. I can't find it for sale on its own anywhere.

If anyone knows where I can buy it - please let me know.

The part I am meaning is the Orange part shown in the picture. This is a picture I found online.

The part we broke was not Orange - it was grey and seemed to be a pathetic crumbly metal or possibly plastic.

Pretty sure it's not available separately, I couldn't find it anyway! Should come with a new handle assembly.

Ok, thanks for that. It would be too easy to just buy one separately wouldn't it

Even the handles which come with the locks included don't show that part in the pictures. Could do with it sorting ASAP so don't want to get one and it be missing.

They're not usually bright orange. Most handles have them, look for the lever on the inside of where the lock barrel would go ( it's normally silver ). I'm having probs uploading pics at the moment so I hope that makes sense!
