Some oil from the vent will still find it's way into the engine via the turbo pipes. That is normal. You just won't get the hot exhaust gas to turn it into a gummy mess. You can lessen the oil by cleaning the separator and vent valve as stated earlier.

Yes, I did mine several thousand miles ago, I reconnect the pipe for the French MOT as they can be a bit picky about such things and take it off again straight after

Yeah did it this morning and now i have a new noise to listen to, a sort of light tapping sound at low revs but only i can hear it wife not hear it at all . Anyway oil and filter change tomorrow and clean the separator , Oil is very black ( i know diesels ) but has any of you come across the oil pick up in the sump becoming blocked in the 2.5 . Tell you i am becoming paranoid , not paid any attention before , not sure why i am now.

Regular oil changes and the pick up should never block.

Thanks Data. Did the oil change today and glad i did, found a small oils leak on the plastic filter housing top , all ok now.
