Hello Fellas,

As a whole, my bonnet is in quite good condition except underneath the front where there is a terraced metal plate welded to the frame and riveted to the bonnet; the plate that the catches and stops are attached to.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a place that does these repair sections?
I've searched high and low and found no joy. It seems such a waste to throw out a reasonably good bonnet that could easily be repaired.

Cheers

Jasper

Can't say I've seen a repair section on the market.
Have a go at making one. Or just patch it the best you can.

There are more holes in it than metal so patching would literally be re-doing it aha! I suppose I could have a go at making one but there are several tight 90 degrees bends followed by another which makes bending practically impossible so would need a press and I havent got one. Probably just have to get a second hand new bonnet.

Seems the easiest way.
I'd try and find a dented one with a solid frame and swap the skin over.
Should pick one up for next to nothing that way.
I've got one in my shed that's battered but good solid frame and wont scrap it for that exact reason.
Oh and the fact I'm a horder

Just done what aaronmorris said, drilled out pop rivets and spotwelds to swap that section in a couple of hour's.

I'll probably try and do the same if I can find one. I like the idea of the pins and straps but the would still involve me making the metal brace thing look tidy which would a big job in its self.
