You get what you pay's for.Devilbiss for me,for the top coats that is.You can pick up some cheap H.V.L.P high volume low pressure guns up nowadays.Thease cheap guns are great for primer,but a devilbiss will give you a decent coat of colour.

I tried a cheapo hvlp but couldn't get on with it. But from what I've read they can be a bit hit and miss as to what you get.
So I bought a devilbiss flg 5. Done a few with it now and happy with the results, It's my compressor that lets me down

pay more= quality. But spraying depends on air quality, a water separator is a must

They describe it as a budget gun because it's one of their cheaper ones. (bare In mind they do £300+ guns)
Of course the more you pay the better they are but it isn't going to be perfect doing it in your yard anyway.
My opinion is that the flg5 is good enough for what you want without breaking the bank, And it's a big step up from the budget guns that are £20 ish.

I have to do my paintwork outside,down fall is the right weather.Idealy you want 17 degrees,little or no wind,and low humidity,we dont get many of those days.and better in the morning before it gets to warm,theres nowt worse than a big f off fly in the middle of your nice new panel.
I've got a big family tent that we don't use any more. The plan is to put up the tent inner and spray in there. Good ventilation, keep the wind from blowing dust etc, keep flies off. Wife's idea

That's a good idea,if i had the space i would get an army landrover tent.They would make a sprey booth.PS dont forget,you'd need an extracter fan,and breathing equipment,more so if using 2pack.I've got a big family tent that we don't use any more. Aaron, did you take note of what GDB said about 2pack! I can remember, somewhere, you saying you didn't use a mask
Nope, I did my first paint job in it (brothers 90)Last 90 I had got painted in it, Then the neighbours complained. (That was last summer)
So this year when I rebuilt the blue one I thought I'd paint in the garage as their should be a few less gaps for the paint to come out of.
And as you know, They complained.
Might as well have done it in the gazebo as I much prefer it.
More light so I can see what I'm doing for a start. One tiny window in the garage is crap to say the least.
Plus the fact that it's bigger than the garage.
Oh and GDB?
I know 2k is bad stuff, No I rarely wear a mask, But I'll be reet.
