When I bought the car I was told the air con had "seized",I wasn't going to bother using it so I removed the air con compressor.

Well its getting warmer and I want the air con

I need to replace the clutch bearing but can only find them for sale in the US and all the bearings from the pulleys and tensioner need replacing too ( are they the same bearing? ).

When I turn on the ac the engine noise changes even tho there is no compressor attached,I don't know enough about the system to know why

And finally,Im not getting any volts from the electrical connector that attaches to the compressor.

Get a working compressor from a breaker.
There will be no volts at the compressor if there is no gas in the system.
Engine note will change as it expects extra load, early systems are a bit crude and it probably doesn't know the compressor is not operating.

I want to fix the one I have rather than buy a new one.

I would have thought when I switch the ac from inside the car i would still be able to measure the volts at the other end?

the bearings in the pump are not available they are made specially for pump manufacturer (denso iirc), they are prone to seizing and usually damages the clutch when they fail, best to source a known good s/h replacement

you will not get a voltage reading if the pumps been removed, there is a pressure switch that senses gas pressure in the system, if there's no pressure the clutch on the compressor is disabled to prevent damage hence no voltage reading

I was listening but you didn't explain why there would be no volts.

all the clutch is there then from what I can see, sometimes the pulley with the sticker on drops off and goes awol

Yeah everything is there,when you rotate the clutch you can hear it burble.

When i got it had no belt,no gas and was told it was seized,all the bearings need replacing so im hoping it was those causing problems but well have to wait and see.

oh and you will need a new drier aswell with you leaving the system open

That's sounds expensive,will I defiantly need one or could I get it gassed and try it?

About 30 quid non genuine, it will work a lot better if its replaced as it soaks the moisture up in the system and with you leaving it open to the elements it will be knackered iirc any more than 30 mins exposure requires it being replaced

I covered the ends of the pipes with gloves if that helps hehe

Does this act kinda like the water filter on a compressor?

its not a filter as water is not supposed to be there , it soaks any condensation up in the system works on the same principle as a Desiccant sachets
