Looking for some advice on an intermittent starting problem on my TD4. It's started to happen maybe 1 in 3 attempts to start. It's like the battery is dead with nothing when the ignition is turned, but then try 2 or 3 more times and it'll fire into life.

I had the same problem 3 years ago and had to call the AA. He had a look and found it be some corrosion on a connection - a common problem he thought. A quick clean up and voila 3 years with no problem. However, I've no idea which connection, or where to find it!

If anyone has any idea it would be much appreciated. Save me a trip to the garage, or getting stranded when it won't turnover at all!!

Thanks

probably where the thin wire connects onto the back of the starter motor - its the live feed but its only a spade connector that connects it - take it off and give it a clean then push it back on well, it happens to me now and again.

Thanks - where would I find this? Sorry not much of a mechanic!!
Think the clue may be "back of starter motor" If you don't know what or where the starter motor is get help.
