cheers buddy was going to do them black but realised how bad it would look so they went back to silver in keeping with the character of a series.

got a few more bits done this evening (sorry no pics) got the door tops bolted to the doors fitted the transmission tunnel and floor pans bolted on the windscreen. and changed over the wheels . will try and get some pictures tomorrow.

Been keeping busy on this in the evenings and today but not had chance to update so here it is all in one.

as planned got the crossmember overpainted and any other bits of chassis and fuel tank that had taken any overspray, also got the rear lights and numberplate fitted,



also got the seatbelt bar, belts and seats installed,



then fitted my other wheels not a fan of tubed tyres so will be running these (others will be sold)





then offered up the front end,



today was spent mostly sorting the wiring for the front lights out, initialling the chequer plate, breaking riveters, painting and fitting the canvas.

sorry about the lack of updates been slowly finishing it. was meant to go in for MOT today but the mechanic let me down so all being well it may go tomorrow if not ill be taking it elsewhere :mad:
 
finally went in for its Mot yesterday……………………… and only PASSED :high5:
took it to work today kind of excited terror on the way there but on the way home smiling from ear to ear :D even though it was pouring it down with rain.

Cheers guys yes was loving it till yesterday………. first ran out of diesel after trying to get the fuel gauge working somehow lost half a tanks worth since rebuild, so thought gauge was kaput till she coughed and spluttered seemed gauge was working fine there was just no diesel in it :eek: then after a jerry can of diesel she was running fine. until giving it the beans going uphill and bang bang bang bang bang serious oh s**t moment brakes aren't the best due to a suspected failing master cylinder pedal hits the floor sometimes and takes some pumping to get a good pedal. anyway pulled over turned it off popped the bonnet and all looks well no oil anywhere it shouldn't, checked the exhaust and all is well jumped back in fired it up and still the same :( anyway nursed it home and can only presume its dragged some crap from the tank and blocked an injector ? sounds horrendous the more it revs the louder it gets can't see it being a valve issue as it still runs anyway not had time to look at it today so thats a job for tomorrow :rolleyes:
 
Did you ever rebleed the fuel system? That takes up quite a bit of diesel going through the pipes, up to the filter and through the pump. When I swapped the washers on my pump banjoes I must have lost quite a bit of fuel
 
btw just noticed not really on topic but I notice the 90 on the previous page went from van sides to windows, are they different sides or did you do the windows yourself?

yeah i suppose thats where it must have gone, just felt a bit of a dumbass presuming being a land rover the gauge was faulty when in fact it was working perfectly :p

yeah there the same sides, i just cut to take the windows.
 
well not what i wanted to find but its not the injectors, seems i have snapped a pushrod :eek::eek::eek::eek:





i have no idea whats caused it seems to have a slight bend in it but that was probably me driving it home like it. number 1-4 seem to be older (quite carboned in the cups and 5-8 seem a lot cleaner (and a different type) so don't know whether its snapped a belt in the past and a tight owner only changed four. does anyone know if theres a chance of damage further in the engine, or is it a simple new set of pushrods and refit ?

long time no update…. yeah its back on road and working again has been for a long time just not had chance to update this.

todays task swing away wheel carrier Mk2

well not exactly mk2 just that mk1 is on my 90 :p

similar design to mk1 apart from it swings the other way (oooohhhh eeerrrr) not like that :eek:
because the plate is on the right rather than the left I'm making it unconventional and backwards. Same design as mk1, 1 1/2 steel 3mm ish wall and notched and welded with strengthening where necessary utilising the standard wheel mount from a back door, trying to make this one sit tighter against the door even though this is difficult with the antiluce latches on a tailgate



mounted through the bolt holes for the crossmember handle ? and top mounted to the horizontal top section on the capping (don't want holes in the bodywork as i know it won't be to everyones cup of tea)
