As the chassis on my 90 is pretty original and tidy I was considering having it protected professionally. Not something id be interested in doing myself so was wondering who does this an whats the general cost? I've had a search and can't find anybody.
Can't imagine it being cheap but will save me in the long run as I'm not looking on selling any time soon.

When I bought my defender I got a waxoyl thrown in for free but my local garage charge £100 plus vat

Mate you can save yourself a fair whack of money if you do it yourself. I never waxoiled mine but used tetra schultz instead. Day one washed it down with a decent pressure washer. Then parked over night in a heated hanger. Day 2 was spent wire brushing and using a brush attachment on the drill cleaning the loose debris off. Day 3 spent applying 3 x 1 litres cans of schultz to the chassis and 2 cans of waxoil for inside the chassis. Total cost was 3 cans of schultz 30 quid, 2 cans waxoil 20 quid ,cheap spray gun from ebay a tenner, my time free.....

Granted I had access to a warm hanger and a pit to stand in, but 60 quid all in and job satisfaction...when I put the 110 in for its MOT the local landrover specialist commented on who had carried out the work as he could send him work.....was shocked when I said it was me...gea it a try and save some money for other toys for the 90

It's Schutz NOT scultz. Schutz is a disaster on rust. It will hold it down well for a year and then start to come off in strips.

where did use i "scultz" instead of schutz.....you spelt it wrong in all!

Funnily enough we use this stuff at work on the Wolf chassis and some of these are in cracking condition...(granted some are not). I used waxoil on my 90 and wasn,t a fan, found it washed off to easily, each to there own. But I prefer the tetra schutz approach, next winter I,ll repeat the process. for less than 2 hours labour my chassis is protected for another year, currently driving a 99 110 wea a solid chassis.
